A portable hospital. This is how MySignals can be described, the last product launched by the Zaragonza company Libelium. It is an eHealth development platform that includes 15 different sensors to measure the 20 most important biometric parameters of a person such as heart rate, glucose, air flow, pulse, oxygen in blood, blood pressure, lung capacity, among many others .
"MySignals is able to measure the main parameters that are controlled in a hospital monitoring room such as heart rate, glucose, air flow, pulse, oxygen in blood, blood pressure, lung capacity, temperature, electrocardiogram, electromyogram , respiratory frequency, galvanic response of the skin, snoring waves, patient's position or body scale parameters ", says David Gascón, founder of Libelium.
Approximately one third of the world's population can not access a diagnosis in real time due to the high cost of some tests and this project aims to promote the democratization of universal access to healthcare, one of the challenges of the 21st century. This is one of the reasons why MySignals has been awarded the 2016 Innovation Award from The App Date.
"MySignals seeks to change the future of medical devices and their applications," explains David Gascón. Under normal conditions some of these parameters (and others more advanced that also registers) can only be known with advanced material and, above all, with an expert in person to be able to analyze them.
"The biggest challenge is to be able to miniaturize the technology by creating a device capable of being portable in a case while simplifying the complicated systems and tools of hospitals in something as simple as a platform to which any sensor can be connected through a cable similar to that of mp3 headphones, press a button and be able to get more than 20 parameters of our body, "says the founder of Libelium.
