Ticketmaster suffers massive data theft

The company recognizes a hack through an external provider that affects 5% of its customers

Have you purchased tickets or registered with Ticketmaster between September 2017 and June 23, 2018? If the answer is affirmative, look at the mailbox of your email. The famous entertainment ticketing company has announced that its subsidiary in the United Kingdom suffered an attack through an external customer service provider called Inbenta Technologies.

In the email, Ticketmaster says "have no evidence to suggest that your data may be compromised", however asks "monitor your bank statements". Inbenta, the provider of Ticketmaster, claims to know "the source of the data breach".

In particular, Ticketmaster has found that "the JavaScript code, which was customized by Inbenta to meet the particular requirements of Ticketmaster has been the culprit", they say.

For its part, Inbenta denies the theory of the ticket company. «This code is not part of any of its products, nor is it present in any of our other implementations. Ticketmaster directly applied the script to its payment page, without notifying our team ».

For its part, Ticketmaster has enabled a web page to answer questions about the incident.
