Users report very complicated language or with a tiny font size

Almost almost all Spanish Internet users acknowledge that they accept without reading the general conditions of Internet services, according to a study by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU). In addition, 69% of respondents say they are not worried about privacy data.

As explained by the consumer organization in a statement, eight out of ten respondents admit that the reason for not reviewing the general conditions is the obligation, by companies, to accept them to use the service. Other reasons are that they are written in another language, in a language "very complicated" or with a size of "tiny".

For the OCU, this situation explains the "low confidence" of consumers in the management of their personal data by companies and organizations. By sectors, banks, public administration services, private health insurance and home insurance are those that best protect and manage privacy, according to users.

On the contrary, the loyalty card management applications and social networks are the ones that, in the opinion of the users, offer the worst confidence in terms of protection against hackers and those who carry out a "privacy" management. , are "minority" who see secure messaging applications.

In addition, OCU has indicated that, although virtually all consumers accept the conditions of privacy, are "very few" those who modify the configuration of privacy once accepted the service. In this sense, the group has criticized that 70% of consumers find it "complicated" to restrict the access of third parties to their data.
